Dr. Wilkinson is an integrative medicine pioneer and one of the originals in “Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy,” as he was working with natural hormone replacement therapy before it was called BHRT. He has been practicing medicine since 1975 and became focused on alternative/integrative medicine in 1977 when he, along with 4 other physicians, created Total Health Foundation—a live-in lifestyle center aimed at reversing disease by practicing healthy life-style choices.
Dr. Wilkinson’s roots run deep in the Yakima Valley as his father, “Dr. Stan” was the physician who started the full time emergency room at what was then Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Previous to that he was in private practice for over 25 years and began the legacy of a loving, attentive physician who listened well and cared deeply about his patients, consequently, he was well-loved by all who knew him. This is a legacy that Dr. Wilkinson cherishes and has always tried to live up to.
Dr. Wilkinson joined his father and brother in private practice in Yakima in 1982. Though far away from big cities he works hard to bring news-breaking anti-aging therapies and natural healing modalities to the Yakima Valley by spending hours studying and also traveling extensively across the United States and Europe, always eager to learn and carry this information back to his patients.
He has long been concerned about the environmental impact of chemicals (found in food, water, homes and air) on our health. This led to his interest in the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM.) It wasn’t long before his colleagues recognized his dedication to this field and voted him both Vice President and President. These positions he held for several years.
He has lectured both stateside and abroad for the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM,) the Broda Barnes Research Foundation, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M,) the Nevada Homeopathic Medical Society and the Stromboli Conference on Aging and Cancer.
His work has been published in “Alternative Medicine, The Definitive Guide,” “The Townsend Letter,” and “Aging Matters Magazine.”
