PMS or Premenstrual Syndrome
(comes with several different names)
CAUSE
The most common cause is a lack of progesterone production during the second half of the cycle. And it is easily treated.
In our experience it can also be caused by other hormonal imbalances, gut problems, and yeast issues.
TREATMENT
Typically, we would do blood work on about day 18 through 22 of the cycle, which is when the progesterone levels should peak. The lab work should include a progesterone level. By normalizing the progesterone levels in the second half of the cycle, women almost always feel much better.
Thyroid problems and gastrointestinal difficulties need to be addressed and fixed.
